The tradition is when a Maya girl is preparing to marry, she has to weave a tzute for the boyfriend`s mother, she must give her before her wedding.
Is a multi-purpose garment made from one or two panels. Its uses include use it as a shawl,carrying for goods, shading the head, carrying a child, and providing extra warmth. A Maya woman can wrap two or three tzutes around herself to better secure a baby, alsa you can use for decoration; for the walls, for the bed or for a special table.
Can take on average, six months per tzute for a skilled weaver to make.
